Trabalhei cerca de sete anos na Av. da Liberdade, ora de um lado, no edifício a norte do cinema S. Jorge, ora do outro lado da avenida, no edifício Skandia (da Mango e da Massimo Dutti, conhecem?). Não é de estranhar que tenha um especial carinho por esta avenida e pelos seus edifícios e palacetes que, em boa hora, começaram a ser mantidos e recuperados. Para além de ser uma das principais artérias da cidade, ao longo dos últimos anos transformou-se num ponto turístico por excelência, onde podemos encontrar as principais marcas internacionais de moda e também muitos hotéis de charme, onde apetece pernoitar…
I worked about seven years at Avenida da Liberdade (Freedom Avenue) in Lisbon, both on the left-hand side, in the building next to St. Jorge cinema, and on the right-hand side of the avenue, in Skandia building (from Mango and Massimo Dutti stores). Maybe that's the reason why this avenue, and all its wonderful historic buildings, is one of my favorite spots in Lisbon. Besides being one of the main arteries of the City Centre, over the past few years has become a tourist spot par excellence. There we can find major international fashion brands and several Boutique hotels, where we aim to stay...
Um dos meus preferidos é o Hotel Altis Avenida. Fica a sul da Avenida, em plena praça dos Restauradores num edifício histórico dos anos 50, de estilo modernista. Entrar neste hotel é como que regressar ao explendor dos anos 40. Lá dentro, o ambiente é de charme e glamour, numa mistura elegante em torno do conceito urban chic. Predominam os tons neutros, conjugados com o dourado, preto e alguns apontamentos em malaquita. Um excelente trabalho da dupla de Arquitectas Cristina Santos Silva e Ana Menezes Cardoso, que conseguiram de forma ímpar introduzir neste hotel todo o conforto e modernidade necessários a um hotel de 5 estrelas, sem comprometer a sua essência.
One of my favorite hotels is Altis Avenida. The hotel is a restored historic building built in the fifties, with a extraordinary location in Restauradores Square. Plunge back into the 40s as you walk through this hotel. The atmosphere is sophisticated and glamorous, in an elegant blend around the Urban Chic concept. In this gorgeous hotel we can find a combination of neutral colors with gold, black and some details on malachite. An excellent work of the two architects Cristina Santos Silva and Ana Menezes Cardoso, who managed to introduce in Altis Avenida the comfort needed for a modern 5-star hotel, without compromising its essence.
No último piso, o Restaurante Rossio oferece deliciosas refeições acompanhadas por uma deliciosa vista de Lisboa. Aqui, o painel de azulejos que retrata a Lisboa dos Descobrimentos dá o mote à decoração: os dourados e pretos misturam-se com o branco e azul forte, num ambiente elegante e luminoso. A vista do terraço é maravilhosa: a norte, a av. da Liberdade segundo uma perspectiva pouco usual, onde predomina o verde da copa das árvores. A sul, uma vista deslumbrante sobre a baixa Lisboeta, na qual se destaca o elevador de Santa Justa e, ao fundo, o rio Tejo, entre o laranja dos telhados. Gosto, gosto muito!
On the pent floor, Rossio restaurant offers delicious meals and a delightful view of Lisbon. Here the blue-and-white Portuguese tile panel, from portuguese discoveries and explorations age, sets the tone for decoration: black and gold tones are blend with white and blue, creating an elegant and bright atmosphere. The terrace has a wonderful view from Lisbon: to the north, Av. Liberdade from an unexpected perspective over the green roof of the treetops; to the south, a amazing view of Lisbon storical downtown, with Tagus river in the backgound. I love it!
